Patrick McHugh was appointed Executive Chairman of Parametric Optimization Solutions Limited in December 2005. From January 2007 he also assumed the responsibilities of CEO. He was previously Chief Executive of Rangegate Mobile Solutions which he led though a restructuring, MBO and sale to a US VC backed software provider. He remains as Chief Executive of Trinity Group and leads work in strategy consulting, interim management and business plan development.

He is an experienced Board Member and Chairman and currently President of the Society of Environmental Engineers. He writes lectures and consults in a wide range of business areas from manufacturing and new product development to business process reengineering and e-commerce. He provides public service on national committees, foundations, charities and boards of associations representing chartered engineers, management consultants, retailers and technology.

He was Chief Operating Officer of The Strategic Partnership, a stakeholder relationship strategy consulting firm that he founded after the Tomorrow's Company Inquiry. Patrick was previously a Group Director of J Sainsbury Plc and a Member of the Group Executive Committee responsible for the E-Commerce portfolio. He was Chairman of Taste Network Ltd. and The Destination Wine Company and a non-executive Director of GlobalNetXchange. Prior to joining J Sainsbury Plc, Patrick was a Vice President with A.T.Kearney, Management Consultants with leadership responsibility for the European Strategic Information Technology Practice. An engineer by profession, he was a Managing Partner with Coopers & Lybrand in the Engineering sector of their Consulting Practice. Prior to that he was a Production Manager with R.A. Lister the diesel engine manufacturer and a Project Engineer with Sulzer in France.

Patrick McHugh holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from Kings College, London and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Opera Studies from Manchester University. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
